What is Panhellenic Council?
“This council is the governing body for all nine of our National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities on Baylor University’s campus. When women accept a bid from these chapters, they become a part of this exceptional and unified community, regardless of their chapter affiliation. The council is led by an executive board consisting of nine positions and a delegate and junior delegate from each chapter. Together, we are committed to relationships built on trust through transparency, accountability, and mutual respect. Innovation and our core values of friendship, leadership, service, knowledge, integrity, and community guide us in fulfilling our mission and more.” -PNM Handbook

Baylor recruitment (or rush) is a bit different than most schools. Unlike recruitment occurring in the fall, ours occurs right before the spring semester. This means that the recruitment process begins in the fall through informal "dates" with active members. When you decide you want to go through the recruitment process, you first need to register through the Panhellenic Council and then start getting to know the chapters (this is most commonly done by attending Pannhellenic "Panny" Previews). Panny Previews are scheduled several times throughout the fall semester. During these meetings, you can go into as many or as little chapter rooms as you want, meet some girls from the chapter to hang out with and get to know (if you want, but this is by no means required). Panny previews are a great way to start forming relationships with actives to help recruitment week feel a bit easier. Recruitment week falls in January. Each day, you will go into various chapters with the end goal being finding a chapter that feels like home!

Registration is just a form to fill out. There is a $55 registration fee, but if this fee hinders you from registering, come chat with me! You will also need to submit your resume. Click here to register!

No! Panny previews and rush dates are just a resource for you to get to know a chapter and its members. It is not a requirement for joining a chapter.

Come chat with me! I am a member of a Panhellenic Sorority and would love to talk about my experience. There is no wrong answer when deciding if/when to go through recruitment because there are plenty of opportunities to find community outside of Panhellenic as well!
